Neil Finn: Wherever You Are (Parlophone)

Like a pair of comfy slippers, a new Neil Finn song eases itself upon the ear. The Crowded House songwriter is simply a class above the average. 'Wherever You Are' is a lovely, straight love song. The kind of thing Neil Finn writes for fun whilst most of our other popstars struggle with a vocoder, their jaws agape, in a desperate attempt to wrestle out a melody of any worth. (JH) 9/10
