Crowded House/Split Enz principal Neil Finn has lined up a handful of live dates in support of
his new live album, "7 Worlds Collide," due Tuesday (Feb. 26) via Nettwerk. Finn will hit San
Francisco on March 11, perform on "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn" the following day, and
in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., that evening. The trek winds down March 15 in Austin, Texas, but
Finn is expected to return for more shows this year.
As previously reported, the 17-track "7 Worlds Collide" was recorded during a five-night stand in
Auckland last may and features a backing band of former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Pearl Jam's
Eddie Vedder, and Radiohead drummer Phil Selway and guitarist Ed O'Brien, among others. An
accompanying DVD, boasting 26 tracks, is also due Tuesday; an hour-long segment from the DVD will
be shown Sunday on MTV2.
The album's title comes from a Crowded House song called "Distant Sun," Finn tells Billboard.com.
"It seemed to describe the idea of what happened when you chuck people from different bands in a
room together for three days to become a band," he says. "It was like a collision of sorts. But a
very benign one, [with] nobody left damaged. It was a beautiful collision. It was like the most
intense hard work that any of us had done for a long time. But it had no negative baggage at the
end of it. We left all feeling exhilarated."
Several songs on "7 Worlds Collide" are from Finn's latest solo album, "One Nil." Released
internationally last year, the set is due May 21 from Nettwerk in North America under the new
name "One All." The new version omits two songs from its predecessor and replaces them with the
newly recorded tracks "Human Kindness" and "Lullaby Requiem." A number of the songs have also
been remixed.
Here are Neil Finn's tour dates:

March 12: San Juan Capistrano, Calif. (Coach House)
